In May 1975, Niclas and Mocco Wollert, the Directors of Rollit Industries Pty Ltd, began making window roller shutters.

They realised at the time that they were pioneering an industry that would one day be worth many millions of dollars.

The Wollert's motive in setting up their roller shutter business was to introduce a European-style product that had not previously been used in Australia.

Initially, all profiles and components were imported.

Today, Rollit Industries is proud that 97 percent of its components are made from Australian raw materials and are manufactured in Australia.

Since 1975, Rollit Industries has not deviated from the task of developing shutters that are not only designed for extreme weather conditions experienced in Australia and South East Asia, but are also designed to suit the styles of housing and lifestyles associated with these countries.

Rollit Industries has also demonstrated a real commitment to the shutter industry and has not diversified into other products, but has instead reinvested heavily into plant and machinery, to lead Australia in the development of new shutter profiles and systems.

This commitment to lead the industry in product development with excellence in quality manufacture, will continue long into the future.
